Paralegal assists and supports attorneys with research and document preparation for court proceedings and legal transactions. Utilizes a variety of sources such as statutes, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles, and legal codes to research and analyze legal topics. Being a Paralegal drafts and edits legal documents such as briefs, pleadings, motions, and contracts. Conducts fact-finding, data collection, and analysis used to prepare statements and arguments. Additionally, Paralegal assists attorneys with depositions, interviews, discovery, and investigations. Manages, organizes, and archives documents with software tools and technology. Applies specialized legal terminology appropriately in documents. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically requires Paralegal Certification. Typically reports to an attorney. The Paralegal work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. To be a Paralegal typically requires 4 -7 years of related experience. JOB DESCRIPTION
- Pre-suit case management: client interviews, medical record retrieval, record organization, demand letter writing, drafting legal correspondence, and communications with insurance adjusters.
- Litigation support: drafting pleadings, drafting and responding to written discovery requests, procedural motion drafting, legal research, issuance of subpoenas, working with expert witnesses, deposition prep, and trial preparations.
- Administrative: processing incoming and outgoing firm mail, processing invoices, monitoring firm supplies, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 3 years experience as a paralegal required.
- Personal injury law experience required.
- Paralegal certificate preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.

COMPENSATION:
$50,000-$60,000 DOE
