What You Will Do
The ability to interact with Lifestyle’s legal team and business stakeholders including executives in a fast-paced environment, under pressure with changing priorities and deadlines, remaining adaptive, proactive, resourceful, and efficient, with a high level of professionalism and confidence. The primary responsibilities of this position are to consult, assist, and coordinate with in-house and outside counsel on all aspects of product liability case management including conducting case assessments; responding to third party inquires; overseeing KPI dashboard and updates. Additionally, you will gather and compile case materials; draft and revise correspondence and other legal documents; conduct investigations, interview clients for relevant case information; and review invoices and manage legal costs.
Lead projects and initiatives through to completion assigned by the Lifestyle division’s VP, Associate General Counsel, and other division counsel.
Oversee Product Safety Center of Excellence (CoE): work cross-functionally with the Product, Supply Chain, Customer Service, and Quality teams on all global product compliance matters, for example: customer settlements, data collection and reporting for reported events and responding to inquiries from customers and government/regulatory agencies, i.e., CPSC, Health Canada, and METI.
Manage Lifestyle’s dashboards for litigation, Product Safety CoE, and matter assignments
Manage legal holds for Lifestyle in the ZDiscovery platform.
Maintain legal files.
Supervise outside law department billing and related matters, including budgeting reporting and review of legal invoices for completeness, ensuring compliance with Harman’s billing guidelines, and reconciling invoices in Harman’s billing system.
Perform diverse and complex legal tasks within specialty in liaising between Harman’s attorneys and internal clients concerning agreement, compliance, litigation and other questions and inquiries, including supporting signature requests.
Oversee projects and initiatives as assigned by VP Associate General Counsel from time to time including administrative support to the Lifestyle Legal department to include but not limited to:
Review mail and notices received and timely distribute to appropriate legal team members
Acknowledge and forward legal and government notices
Manage travel bookings and arrangements and preparing and tracking travel and entertainment expense reports
Preform all general administrative duties for the department, including copying, scanning, mailings, invoice processing, and reconciliation
Create and edit PowerPoint presentations and other documents, including financial reports.
What You Need
Bachelor's degree, or its equivalent.
Minimum of eight (8) years of previous experience as a corporate paralegal in a corporation or large or mid-sized law firm.
Paralegal certificate (preferred).
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically with Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word.
Experience with database management and reporting.
Comparative analytics experience (preferred).
Expertise in ZDiscovery, Exterro, Qlik Sense, Legal Tracker (Serengeti), or GEMS (preferred).
CA or TX registered notary public a plus.

What We Offer
The standard base salary for this position is $99,000 -$121,000 plus applicable bonus.
