Paralegal Manager manages and develops the paralegal team and the systems and processes utilized to conduct research and produce legal documents. Responsible for case management by assigning cases and monitoring progress to ensure timely completion. Being a Paralegal Manager validates and oversees the preparation of legal documents, such as briefs, pleadings, motions, appeals, wills, and contracts. Organizes documents into formal report and proofs for attorneys. Additionally, Paralegal Manager provides research and training support to the paralegals utilizing databases and legal libraries. Coordinates with attorneys on special requests or highly complex projects. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Requires Paralegal Certification. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Paralegal Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Paralegal Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.   • We are looking for an exceptional paralegal who is ready to handle their own caseload and oversee a team of busy paralegals. You will be responsible for assigning projects, advising on hiring practices, paralegal salaries and billing rates, training new employees, and deciding which paralegal is best fit for handling certain projects. You’ll also track continuing legal education credits for the department and make suggestions on which classes the paralegals should enroll in. Our ideal candidate is an experienced legal professional who is a natural leader that loves to help others grow and develop. If you meet these criteria, we’d love to connect.Responsibilities:
    • Draft various legal documents to support attorneys, such as pleadings, discovery requests and answers, memoranda, and contracts
    • Liaise between subordinate paralegals and attorneys to confirm tasks are accurately completed and deadlines are met
    • Advise in making personnel decisions, including hiring/termination, salaries, promotions and yearly reviews, as they pertain to paralegals
    • Manage our team of paralegals and assist with assigning projects organizing and prioritizing tasks, caseload, and workflow, and advise on how to resolve conflicts, when they arise
    • Track legal department’s Continuing Legal Education (CLE) to ensure credits are up-to-date and make appropriate recommendations for classes

    • Draft Estate Planning and Probate Documents under the direction of the Attorney in the Firm's Software including Last Will Testaments, Power of Attorneys, Living Will, Revocable Living Trust, and Irrevocable Trusts
    • Draft Probate and Estate Planning documents for the Attorney's review and approval and revise documents according to the Attorney's feedback
    • Process a Probate file from beginning to finish under the direction, guidance, and support of the Probate Attorney
    • Communicate with clients providing frequent updates and tracking requests of documentation from the clients

    Qualifications:
    • Required 5 years of prior experience working as a paralegal specialist, case manager, legal office manager, or legal assistant
    • Certificate of completion from paralegal program recognized nationally preferred
    • Standard computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
    • Leadership, decision-making, management, and communication skills are necessary in this position
    • Member of local paralegal association and/or National Federation of Paralegal Association preferred
