Paralegal Manager manages and develops the paralegal team and the systems and processes utilized to conduct research and produce legal documents. Responsible for case management by assigning cases and monitoring progress to ensure timely completion. Being a Paralegal Manager validates and oversees the preparation of legal documents, such as briefs, pleadings, motions, appeals, wills, and contracts. Organizes documents into formal report and proofs for attorneys. Additionally, Paralegal Manager provides research and training support to the paralegals utilizing databases and legal libraries. Coordinates with attorneys on special requests or highly complex projects. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Requires Paralegal Certification. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Paralegal Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Paralegal Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Paralegal

    This individual will assist our Legal Department Lawyer(s), responsible for providing paralegal support services for commercial contracting, real estate, acquisition, and divestiture efforts.

    Position Location:

    Parker's Corporate Headquarters in Cleveland, Ohio

    Interaction, Scope, & Supervision:

    * Reports directly to the VP Law, Deputy General Counsel and Assistant Secretary.
    * Supports numerous lawyers throughout the Legal Department.

    Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

    Commercial Contracting:

    * Support attorneys who draft, negotiate, and manage commercial contracts by providing general administrative, project and contract management support.

    * Help build and maintain contract life-cycle management procedures, templates, and systems.

    * Act as a gatekeeper for questions from, help coordinate communication with, and conduct training for the Parker division contract coordinators and other division personnel.

    * Perform primary review of non-disclosure agreements and other agreements in accordance with established guidelines.

    * Help organize, manage, and participate in practice area meetings, continuous improvement initiatives, training sessions, and contract reporting efforts; and perform various other tasks upon request.

    Real Estate:

    • Help real estate attorney with drafting, contract review, verification of data and coordination with Parker's Real Estate Department.
    • Acquisitions and Divestitures:

    Qualifications:

    • Associate or bachelor's degree.
    • Paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program.
    • Five or more years of relevant, progressive paralegal or equivalent experience.
    • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills.
    • Proven ability to perform each essential functions with skill, efficiency, and practicality.
    • Proven ability to work independently on substantive legal matters and perform a variety of other tasks with minimal attorney supervision.
    • Creative self-starter with ability to develop and implement innovative, flexible, balanced, and practical solutions.
    • Collaborative with others, able to work as part of a team to accomplish goals.
