Paralegal Supervisor supervises the paralegal team and implements systems and processes utilized to conduct research and produce legal documents. Description
Provide support to a collaborative project with local community centers including in-person, phone, and email communication with staff members and clients, scheduling, and providing outreach support. This position also involves providing litigation support to the attorneys by compiling data, coordinating intakes, interviewing clients and witnesses, responding to client inquiries, drafting and filing pleadings with courts, preparing correspondence, and assisting in preparation of cases.
This position allows for a hybrid schedule. Some travel within Lincoln is required.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
• Communicate either orally or in writing with management, members of the firm, partners in statewide network, non-profit community centers, clients, and the public.
• Provide support in Legal Aid's Access to ATOJ Center (walk-in center).
• Provide litigation assistance to the attorneys, acting as a liaison between clients or opposing counsel and Legal Aid attorneys.
• Interview clients and witnesses to obtain necessary case-specific information.
• Relay the legal facts and advice given by an attorney to the client, following up with written materials.
• Draft, proof and/or edit legal documents and correspondence.
• Assist in implementing Legal Aid's Mission Statement, goals and priorities, including helping clients to become self-sufficient.
