Park Naturalist plans, develops, and conducts programs to inform the public of historical, natural, and scientific features concerning national, state, or local parks. May require a bachelor's degree and 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Being a Park Naturalist is familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. This is a position that requires hands-on effort to protect our guest safety at all times. It requires the ability to stay focused on safety regardless of the environment. Lifeguarding calls for supervision of the park attractions and play areas while the facility is in use. Lifeguards seek to prevent accidents but are trained to respond to any scenario. Additionally, they report and assist supervisors to document all accidents. In addition, lifeguards must supervise the guest throughout the park, clear and secure the pool at closing, curtail any misuse of the facility or inappropriate actions, inspect their zone and equipment on a daily basis to ensure guest safety, and enforce special participant rules. The nature of this position has a tremendous amount of guest contact and we expect sensational service to all of our guests. If selected we will provide the lifeguard training class that you must complete to be formally offered the job.
An additional $1 per hour worked bonus, will be paid to those who complete the summer.
When the water portion of the class starts you must be able to complete one of the two options below:
Option 1 (Special Facilities Lifeguard - Pay Rate Starting at $8.25 per hour):
Option 2 (Shallow Water Lifeguard - Must be 15 or older - Pay Rate Starting at $7.50 per hour):
