Parking Attendant distributes tickets to customers and collects payments in a parking facility. Directs customers to appropriate parking spaces. Being a Parking Attendant may park and retrieve automobiles in a full-service parking lot or garage. Greets guests and ensures timely service. Additionally, Parking Attendant may require a high school diploma or equivalent. Requires Driver's license. Typically reports to a supervisor. Under the supervision of the Transportation Shift Manager, the incumbent is responsible for the cleanliness, upkeep and maintenance of the valet and self- parking lots and garages including the man lift areas, stairways, parking gates, kiosks, signs, traffic cones and mirrors. All mechanical equipment malfunctions and worn traffic control identifications associated with all parking areas and traffic patterns interior and exterior shall be reported to management. High school diploma or GED as well as one (1) year of related experience. Must possess valid driver's license, provide a state DMV driving history report, operate company vehicles and possess basic mechanical skills along with learning how to operate a tow truck. Position requires ability to routinely walk, frequently reach, bend and squat. Must possess ability to climb ladders and stairs and handle weights of up to 80 pounds. Must possess acceptable vision, hearing and dexterity to safely operate vehicles and attend/pass required safety classes. Position requires ability to work outdoors in both hot and cold weather. The incumbent directs movement of vehicular traffic at entrances, intersections and through construction sites.
