Parts Material Handling Specialist Job Description
Forklift Exchange, Inc. is seeking a Parts Material Handling Specialist to join our team in our Bedford Park, IL office. This individual will be responsible for inventory management, order entry, shipping and receiving, and inventory control.
Core Duties & Responsibilities
· Oversee and document the receipt of shipments, packages and parts/supplies and ensure they are stored in the appropriate areas
· Prepare items for shipping
· Receive PO's in the system and turn in packing lists
· Stage parts in inventory or on staging shelves for jobs
· Pull parts for jobs and stage them on shelf or ship them to jobsite
· Actively follow Kanban inventory management system
· Keep inventory rooms clean and organized
· Return unused parts to vendors or inventory shelves
· Research parts needed for jobs utilizing BOM's, drawings, online tools etc.
· Develop parts lists for future jobs to ensure all parts are staged prior to starting a repair job
· Occasional driving to pick up parts, deliver parts or return parts may be required
· Assist the procurement team to call vendors, sending RFQ's and ordering some parts
· Provide daily communications with Service Manager, Service Advisers and Procurement
· Loading and unloading equipment and shipments
· Other duties as assigned by your supervisor
Qualifications
· Must have driver’s license and clear driving record
· One year of related experience
· A background in mechanical parts preferred
· Ability to operate warehouse equipment safely and efficiently (e.g., forklift certification is a plus).
· Move packages of up to 70 pounds safely and securely
· A team player with excellent communication skills
