Parts Manager jobs in Union, NJ

Parts Manager supports the parts department with technical, procedural, inventory control, and parts exchange support. Manages material and parts in accordance with production schedules and commitments. Being a Parts Manager monitors and troubleshoots all backorders and communicates and provides technical assistance to parts sales, customers, and branches. Monitors the parts inventory database and places orders as needed. Additionally, Parts Manager reviews progress reports on schedule status, parts usage, and inventory and makes necessary adjustments. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Parts Manager supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Parts Manager typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     The Parts Manager would be responsible for running a profitable and efficient parts department by utilizing proper purchasing procedures, inventory control, staffing efficiencies, pricing strategies, merchandising and marketing. The Parts Manager is also responsible for managing department staff.

    • Administer and maintain a balanced inventory consistent with the requirements of the manufacturer.
    • Utilize available pricing parameters and strategies to generate sufficient profit while maintaining customer loyalty.
    • Control inventory to meet customer demand while managing obsolete and excess inventory.
    • Ensure full compliance with manufacturer parts and warranty policies, procedures and rules.
    • Develop an effective team through training and performance standards. 
    • Two years of automotive parts experience is required
    • A positive "Can Do" team leader 
    • Ability to engage and motivate the team to achieve key goals
    • Strong organizational skills and detail oriented
    • Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal
    • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced work environment
    • Skilled in various computer programs. Microsoft Office Suite and ADP is a plus
    • Subaru experience is preferred
    • CDK System a aplus
