    Reports to: The lead pastor of the BLVD Church

    Position Description: The community life pastor of The BLVD Church will ensure that our building is cared for and set up so that we can discover God's love with our neighbors. The community life pastor also works on empowering our congregation to live out our “give” value while also overseeing communications to help us discover God's love with our neighbors.

    Qualifications:

    • Clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a vital and growing personal relationship with him
    • Commitment to the mission and vision of The BLVD Church
    • High level of emotional intelligence and self-awareness
    • Ability to coordinate church ministries effectively
    • Basic understanding of how a facility and a licensed kitchen should be run and operated to best serve and grow the BLVD Church
    • Excellence in self-motivation, organization, follow-through, and attention to detail
    • Ability to follow directions and communicate effectively with staff, volunteers, and companies hired by BLVD
    • Ability to recruit and lead volunteers
    • Regular attendance in the BLVD faith community

    Responsibilities:

    Kitchen

    • Ensure that the kitchen is clean and organized
    • Coordinate and lead volunteers to ensure they have everything they need to implement their roles as volunteers for services and events
    • Purchase and manage supplies and food for every BLVD kitchen ministry event.
    • Ensure we are following all health department regulations
    • Ensure we have food for Sundays, mid-week services, programming, and events.
    • Manage kitchen budget and donations
    • Manage the kitchen menu and quality of the food for every meal being served.
    • Ensure the kitchen ministry is providing a space for all community members to come and be fed, which will result in a transformed life and community
    • Be the bridge from the community to our kitchen ministry and other discipleship and worship opportunities

    Community life

    • Oversee, schedule, plan, and execute community life, outreach, and family ministry events throughout the year with staff members and key volunteers, ensuring they meet The BLVD’s core values
    • Project manage “spaces and tasks” and see to it that tasks are completed by key staff and volunteers to ensure the event or project is completed with excellence and by the deadline set
    • With deacons and staff, support and implement discipleship and outreach events
    • Ensure the space is hospitable for gathering and belonging.
    • Oversee our local partnerships and ensure our congregation is living out our “give” value through individuals and life groups as the needs arise.
    • Recruit, coordinate, and empower the congregation to serve with partnering ministries and at other outreach events
    • Assist BLVD staff, leaders, and volunteers in critically analyzing services, programs, and discipleship pathways to ensure we are discovering God’s love to the best of our ability
    • Oversee the support and multiplication of life groups and support life group leaders.
    • The community life pastor will be a disciple-maker of our disciples-makers. This means meeting regularly with life group leaders to build relationships and offer support and care to ensure our life group ministry is accomplishing the mission and vision of life groups
    • Oversee and implement our discipleship pathway to ensure that our leaders and church grow in their walk with Jesus and what God has called them to do
    • Support Pastoral Care Elders in follow-up and implementing care
    • Connect/meet with new guests and plug them into life groups and volunteer roles as appropriate for their gift set
    • Maintain a positive impact on guests’ experience: how they feel, what they see, and how they might experience God in our worship services
    • Oversee and implement the vision of any and all connection points
    • Oversee and implement guest follow-up
    • Develop a process for care after service: personal contact, an invitation to the next event, lunch, coffee, serve, etc.
    • Develop a contact process to include follow-up with current QR code, connect card, and website engagement
    • Connect card and website follow-up flow and processes
    • Develop a complimentary process of guest services with the kid’s and youth ministry teams
    • First Impressions Team
    • Responsible for recruiting and empowering the team for two services on Sunday, working towards adding a third service at some point in the future.

    • Prayer team

    BLVD staff

    • Attend and participate in weekly staff meetings and one-on-one meetings with supervisor
    • Manage and oversee the facilities staff and discipleship staff
    • Attend other meetings as necessary
    • Assist with other duties and responsibilities as needed/assigned

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: From $50,000.00 per year
