Pastor directs religious services and all daily operations for the organization. Provides spiritual leadership to members. Additionally, Pastor performs religious services, leads prayer and conducts worship. Requires a master's degree. Typically reports to regional or chapter manager. The Pastor typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Job Responsibilities:
- Development and implementation of the mission and vision of the church - Delivering engaging and impactful sermons and teachings to the congregation - Overseeing the Sunday School Program - Leading the congregation in holy communion
- Providing pastoral care and support to individuals and families in times of crisis, including crisis management, intervention and professional help when needed
- Conducting Christian counseling sessions to address spiritual, emotional, and premarital needs
- Mentoring and guiding individuals in their spiritual journey and personal growth
- Leading and organizing worship services, including planning and coordinating with worship teams
- Overseeing and participating in church committees/teams and ministries, including being a part of the Consistory to ensure the financial and spiritual well-being of the church
- Leading confirmation class for the youth
- Officiating at weddings, funerals, baptisms, and other significant life events
- Providing hospice care and bereavement support to those facing end-of-life situations
- Collaborating with church staff and leaders to develop and implement ministry programs - Coordinating, delegating, and overseeing the planning of outreach activities in the surrounding neighborhoods and work with other community churches and organizations in cooperation and coordination of programs and/or services to further service and enhance the mission of the church
- Visiting sick and shut-in members who are homebound or in care facilities - and any other situations, actions, or activities requiring the guidance/assistance of the pastor
Experience:
- Strong public speaking skills with the ability to deliver engaging sermons and teachings
- Experience in crisis management and intervention, providing support during difficult times
- Knowledge of hospice care principles and the ability to provide compassionate end-of-life support
- Familiarity with bereavement support techniques to assist individuals grieving the loss of a loved one
- Mentoring experience, guiding individuals in their spiritual growth and personal development
- Strong leadership skills to effectively lead a congregation and work with church staff
- Proficient in Christian counseling principles and techniques to address spiritual, emotional, and relational needs
- Excellent written communication skills for creating written materials such as newsletters or articles
- Technological Experience (sound system, social media)
