    Job Description/Scop of Work: This position involves providing clinical supervision to Staff Chaplains at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, ensuring the highest level of Pastoral Care in accordance with industry standards. The supervisor will engage in reflection, discussion, and evaluation with peers to maintain a ministry-centered approach to patient care and minimize vulnerability to secondary trauma.

    Sanford Federal, Inc. Sanford Federal, Inc. is seeking a Pastoral Care Clinical Supervisor to provide clinical supervision to Staff Chaplains at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, ensuring the highest level of Pastoral Care in accordance with industry standards.

    Responsibilities:

    • Assist chaplains in establishing group learning goals annually throughout the duration of the contract.
    • Facilitate discussion processes and cover group learning goals during small group supervision/training sessions.
    • Provide quarterly updates to the Command Chaplain, each lasting one hour and aligned with the fiscal year calendar.
    • Conduct business operations between 0800-1400 hours, Monday through Friday, excluding Federal holidays or closures due to local or national emergencies, administrative closings, or similar Government-directed facility closings.
    • Provide weekly Small Group Supervision/Training every Wednesday for 90 minutes as set by the Command Chaplain. This schedule can be adjusted when mutually agreed upon by the Command Chaplain and the contractor. A total of 48 sessions are required; therefore, the remaining 4-week sessions will not be scheduled due to Command Functions and Holidays. Notification of these non-scheduled weeks will be provided to the vendor a minimum of 3 days prior to the start of the week.
    • Conduct additional Individual/Small Group Sessions as needed, with an estimated requirement of 30 sessions. The Government will provide a minimum of 3 days' notice for these sessions. These sessions may include assisting chaplains with preparation for Board Certification requirements, providing planning and guidance during peer reviews, and advising Navy Medical Forces Atlantic on training requirements.
    • Assist Staff Chaplains in establishing group learning goals for the upcoming year, starting in October, and develop metrics for follow-up support. During small group supervision/training, facilitate discussion processes and cover the included group/individual learning goals.
    • Validate, in writing and by signature, the supervisory hours provided to chaplains.

    Qualifications:

    • Valid endorsement from a recognized DOD Religious Organization relating to faith group involvement (specifically, ordination or recognition as an approved leader within faith community).
    • Professional degree with a focus in Mental Health (i.e., LPC, LMFT, LCSW) with a Mental Health discipline. Ability to attain and keep current certifications required for Virginia State License to practice; OR
    • Professional degree required. Association of Clinical Pastoral Education, Inc. (APCE) Certified Educator required. Must provide proof of degree, and certification verifying requirements met; AND
    • Proof of 2000 hours plus of clinical experience.
