Recreation Director responsible for planning and coordinating comprehensive and diverse programs and activities to provide life-enriching opportunities for our long-term care residents. Strengthen community involvement through promotion of volunteerism among residents and members of the community.
Recreation Director Key Duties:
· Develop and implement engaging activities that cater to the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of our residents.
· Plan and implement activities. Conduct and lead activities as needed.
· Plan, coordinate, and assist decoration of the facility for unique events, seasons, and holidays.
· Develop a monthly newsletter, solicit resident involvement.
· Arrange transportation for activities outings and regularly scheduled group trips.
· Participate in the Interdisciplinary Team Meetings, Care Plans, Assessments, and other family/ resident meetings.
· Perform other duties as assigned by NHA to ensure smooth operation of the program and to meet residents needs within federal and state regulations.
Recreation Director Qualitfications:
· Previous experience in a Recreation/Activities Director or equivalent in long term care required and certification preferred. Memory care dementia experience a plus.
· Recreation Director certification of Therapeutic Recreation Specialist credentialling required.
