LAB ASSISTANT

What you will do:

• Print Cassettes
• Accession assignment
• Transcribe dictated pathology reports
• Handle pathology specimens fixated in formalin.
• verify pathology specimens corresponding to clinic requisition forms, addressing any discrepancies with the clinical teams.
• Utilize an EMR/EHR system and associated programs
• Call facilities for updates on outstanding pathology testing and technical preparation.
• Organize and file pathology slides and reports.
• create provider letters
• answers phones in a professional and friendly manner
• Maintain updated billing procedures and correct coding modifiers.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working in a pathology lab required
• Ability to type 70 wpm
• Exceptional organization and time management skills
• Familiarity working with interfaces
• Technology proficient

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
