Patient Accounts Representative - Business Office

The position if a full-time position with a Monday through Friday; 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. work schedule. The duties and responsibilities are as follows:

Performs a variety of clerical duties involved in collecting balances due and recording payments to accounts. Answers inquiries from patients regarding account charges, insurance payments, and balances due. Responsible for all aspects of insurance credentialing for CMH medical providers and facilities. Responsible for ensuring providers are credentialed with insurance/health plans. Maintain up-to-date data for each provider in credentialing data bases and online systems.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Process billing insurance forms and maintain patient accounts. Submit claims to Insurance companies via mail or electronic. Call insurance companies on past due balances.

Assist patients and insurance companies regarding questions on all matters of charges, billing of insurance and account balances. Research denials from insurance companies and file appeals when necessary.

Investigate and process credit balance refunds for Medicare 1.

Scan Superbills and EOB’s. Place records into storage boxes and take to CPC basement for storage.

Substitute as a phone operator in the front office.

Credentialing Responsibilities:

Compiles and maintains current and accurate data for all providers.

Competes provider insurance credentialing requests; monitors and follows-up as needed.

Maintains knowledge of insurance/health plans requirements for credentialing providers.

Sets up and maintains provider information in online credentialing databases and systems.

Ensures practice addresses are current with insurance/health plans.

Audits insurance/health plan directories for current and accurate provider information.

Coordinate with CMH administrative assistant/clinical privileges credentialing for current copies of state licenses, DEA certificates, malpractice coverage and any other required credentialing documents for all providers.
Maintains confidentiality of provider information and keeps information secure
