Description

The Patient Care Services Director will be responsible for:

• Ensuring that patient care units maintain continuous regulatory readiness and compliance with regulatory readiness and compliance with regulatory agency standards.
• Implement strategies and plans that will drive change in the delivery of reliable and safe patient care.
• Foster collaboration among physicians, nurses, and other care providers.
• Developing, implementing, and monitoring policies regarding patient care services within the organization.
• Identifies opportunities and acts to build strategic relationships between nursing and other patient care areas to achieve common goals. Participates and/or leads clinical department improvements as needed.
• Creates annual capital budgets for patient care departments, in conjunction with the department directors.
• Develops short - and long- term goals for maintaining quality patient outcomes, patient satisfaction, staff decelopment and innovation in practice and patient care.
• Mentoring individuals and teams to help strengthen specific knowledge/skills in areas needed to promote critical thinking and judgment.

Educational Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. BSN required. Master's prepared or in progrsss preferred.
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Louisiana.
• Specialty certification preferred (Nurse Executive Board Certified: NE-BC or ACHE)
• BLS certification within 3 months of start date

Experience Requirements:

• Three years of nursing management experience required

• Basic computer and Microsoft program knowledge
• Organizational and interpersonal skills
• Abiltiy to determine appropriate course of action in more complex situations
• Ability to work independently, exercise creativity, be attentive to detail, and maintain a positive attitude
• Possess personal qualities such as kindness, empathy, understanding, respect, good judgment, integrity, loyalty, a sense of humor, and an ability to relate to people in a compassionate manner.
