Payroll Administrator is responsible for the accurate preparation, documentation, distribution and reconciliation of payroll and the administration of the payroll system. Reviews the computation of pay and associated deductions for accuracy. Being a Payroll Administrator maintains up-to-date knowledge of city, state, provincial, local, and federal legislation affecting payroll; understands and follows applicable provisions. Prepares required tax filings and other reporting. Additionally, Payroll Administrator may coordinate payroll processing with an outside service provider. Responds to and resolves any inquiries regarding paychecks or payroll reporting. Ensures payroll issues are escalated and resolved promptly. May require an associate degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Payroll Administrator work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role.     Key Responsibilities:

    • Efficiently manage and execute the collection, processing, and review of payroll data using Sage 100 and Procore systems.
    • Stay current with certified payroll processing, reporting, and management, including adherence to evolving rates, laws, and regulations.
    • Oversee sick, vacation, bereavement, and holiday pay, ensuring accurate and timely payroll liabilities.
    • Collaborate with Human Resources to enhance payroll processes and systems, aiming for increased efficiency and effectiveness.

    Ideal Candidate:

    • 3 years of experience in payroll within the construction industry, and a keen interest in learning and adapting to new software.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Sage 100 Contractor, or similar payroll/time-keeping software.
    • Demonstrated ability to work independently with strong organizational, detail-oriented, and communication skills.
    • Committed to confidentiality and discretion in handling sensitive payroll information.

    We Offer:

    • Competitive compensation: $22.00-$32.00 per hour (DOE).

    Schedule: This position requires approximately 20 hours per week to be accomplished within our office hours of 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The duties require a set schedule, but we can offer some flexibility with defining those hours.

    Physical Requirements for this Position*:

    • Ability to work in a standard office setting and use standard office equipment, including computers, keyboards, printers, and phones.
    • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods, often working at a desk or in front of a computer.
    • Requires the manual dexterity to operate computer keyboards and other office equipment.
    • Must have the visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, and figures.
    • Requires the ability to occasionally lift files or paper weighing up to 15 pounds.
    • May require the ability to move about the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
    • Capable of speaking and hearing for communication with employees, management, and other stakeholders.
