Payroll Clerk prepares and processes payroll and associated information. Collates and verifies data and inputs into the payroll system. Being a Payroll Clerk updates payroll records and processes routine changes to employee records. Performs basic reconciliation and auditing processes during each pay cycle. Additionally, Payroll Clerk responds to pay-related inquiries from staff. Researches and resolves errors or omissions. May prepare and submit reports and forms required by IRS or other regulatory bodies. Follows all processing procedures, adheres to policies, and maintains confidentiality. Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Payroll Clerk works under moderate supervision.     This is a full-time job on site, Monday through Friday.

    This position is responsible for all managing all payables and receivables and customer collections. This involves accurate and timely processing of all deposits, checks, credit card transactions, and customer financing applications for the business.

    This position will handle all paperwork for new hires as well as weekly payroll and all related activities such as child support, payroll taxes, tracking vacations, and attendance.

    Additional responsibilities will include bi-weekly submission of local taxes and monthly and quarterly submission of all required state and federal taxes, as well as HSA and 401K submissions.

    This job will also require compiling of employee and tax information required by the company’s CPA.

    This position will communicate with service dispatcher and customer care in areas related to accounting functions, and will report directly the Vice President.

    Ideal Candidate

    Will have Bachelor or Associate Degree in Accounting, or solid past work experience in accounting and payroll procedures.

    Will be proficient, experienced, and capable of managing all areas of accounting for a small business.

    Must have excellent planning and organizational skills and be able to implement and follow through with all required procedures. Time management skills and accuracy and attention to detail is a critical part of this position.

    Must be familiar with Financial Reports and able to recognize any details that may require attention.

    Must have excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
