Boone Supported Living is hiring a Payroll Clerk/ Specialist. We are growing and our BSL team is expanding. We need to hire a Payroll Clerk/ Specialist to add to an existing Finance and Payroll dept. JOB DUTIES
Payroll Processing
- Become BSL’s Subject Matter Expert regarding isolved payroll processing and timekeeping system
- Maintain solved database regarding personnel compensation, tax withholdings, direct deposit records, and more.
- Manage timesheet reconciliation process to ensure all employees are accounted for
- Process payroll for employees weekly and supplemental payrolls as needed
- Manage organization payroll budget and report on variances
- Address and resolve employee complaints related to payroll timely
- Manage garnishments, payroll advance repayments, and employee benefit payments in arrears
- Ensure manually printed checks are distributed timely to employees
- Manage W2 distributions
- Ensure federal and state tax withholdings are timely processed and paid by Paycor
Employee Benefits Management
- Support benefit enrollment for new hires and annual open enrollment periods
- Unenroll employees from benefits upon employment termination
- Manage COBRA payments
- Manage unemployment vendor audits and payments
- Calculate and track employee portion of benefit payments in arrears and proactively communicate when subsequent paychecks will be adjusted for said payments
- Ensure PTO accruals and deductions are correct
Continuing Education
- Identify free or low-cost opportunities to remain current on new payroll and benefit rules/laws
- Attend trainings, report on new learnings, and provide formal recommendations to BSL leadership
- Obtain certifications as directed
Other Duties
- Weekly reconcile payroll reports within BSL’s accounting software
- Other duties as assigned
MEETINGS
- Meet with Finance Manager to review questions and get updates, weekly.
- Meet regularly with Scheduling Coordinators to troubleshoot issues and build strong collaboration
- Meet regularly with Human Resources Manager to troubleshoot issues and build strong collaboration
- Attend meetings with operations team bi-weekly.
- Attend administration team meetings, weekly.
- Attend other meetings, as needed.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Associates degree in Business, Accounting or Finance
- 2-years experience in payroll processing
- Strong knowledge of tax and wage laws
- Good understanding of the common fiscal procedures
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong computer literacy including Microsoft Office applications and cloud based payroll processing applications
- Exceptional multitasking and organizational skills
- Able to work effectively with minimal supervision
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong problem solving skills
