A dynamic company in the Construction/Contractor industry is looking to hire a Payroll Clerk and has partnered with Robert Half to find the ideal candidate to join their team. You will be expected to support the Payroll department in this position in a variety of duties such as data entry, reconciliation of timecards, paycheck distribution and providing statements to various departments. A candidate should be able to effectively communicate with both internal team members and outside customers as part of this dynamic, fast-growing team. This Payroll Clerk opportunity is based in the Nanuet, New York area and is a long-term contract employment role.

Major responsibilities

- Build and run custom reports

- Reach out to employees via phone and email to obtain timesheet approvals

- Data entry into spreadsheets and the payroll system

- Build a system of administering and distributing reports

- Deliver instruction/training to employees regarding the use of payroll-related systems including entry of timesheets, online access of pay statements, etc.

- Perform basic clerical duties such as filing, scanning, faxing, photocopying, etc

- Enter data into spreadsheets and the payroll system
