Being a Payroll Clerk, Sr. updates payroll records and processes routine changes to employee records. Performs basic reconciliation and auditing processes during each pay cycle. Additionally, Payroll Clerk, Sr. responds to pay-related inquiries from staff. Researches and resolves errors or omissions. May prepare and submit reports and forms required by IRS or other regulatory bodies. Follows all processing procedures, adheres to policies, and maintains confidentiality. In this role, you’ll be responsible for processing material pricing of concrete / aggregate / asphalt daily order entry, invoice / credit preparation and reconciliations.

Wage Scale for Position : $22-$25 / hr DOE w / potential for overtime.

Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain excellent internal and external customer relations :
Respond timely and professionally to internal and external customer inquiries and information requests. Research questions to determine the problem and communicate any corrective action that is required.
Provide support and information to sales staff on customer billing questions and credit preparation.
Provide support to dispatch / scale staff on inquiries and corrections required.
Work as a team member to achieve departmental goals.
Processing of Material Pricing :
Daily processing of aggregate & ready-mix orders for invoicing in the point-of-sale databases to meet established timelines and controls.
Weekly processing of approved credit invoices in both the accounting and point of sale databases.
Prepare daily reconciliations of yardage and tonnage and report information as required.
Point of Sale System Maintenance (Apex and Commandseries)
Set up customer projects and maintain all internal and external pricing.
Maintain the item master file, zones, surcharges, etc.
Internal Controls and Documentation
Maintain authorized backup for all customer pricing.
Maintain audit control logs.
Create and maintain documentation for material sales processing for accounting, point of sale and document imaging systems.
Other Duties
Perform all duties according to CRH Internal SOX and Fraud Controls.
Observe confidentiality of company information; written and verbal.
Observe company safety standards and maintain safe work environment.
Filing, other duties and specialized projects as assigned.
Participate in and promote an inclusive work environment.
Promptly communicate with supervisors on any flaws in material.
Take action to avoid potential hazards or obstructions.
Other tasks and duties as assigned to meet business needs.
Regular and timely attendance.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Required Qualifications
Safety minded professional who demonstrates good performance, attendance and punctuality.
Must pass pre-employment physical exam and pre-employment controlled substance testing.
Demonstrates the ability to work overtime and weekends / holidays as needed.
Demonstrates the ability to conform to and maintain OSHA, MSHA, DOT and all other company or state rules and regulations.
Must have current US Authorization to work or ability to obtain without company assistance prior to start date.
Previous experience working with accounting, preferably order entry and billing.
Preferred previous experience in Point of Sales System (i.e. Apex, Commandseries).
Previous experience in building materials or related industries a plus.
Excellent organizational, communication and customer service skills.
Customer service, with excellent telephone and organizational skills required.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
Consistently appears for work at scheduled work time.
Work hours : 8 Hours per day / 5 days per week with occasional overtime as required.
Possible reduction of hours during end of November through Mid-February to 32 hours per week.
Preferred Qualifications :
High school graduate or equivalent required; additional accounting or business classes preferred.
