Payroll Director directs all aspects of payroll processing operations. Establishes and oversees payroll processes and procedures for routine processing, tax reporting and internal financial requirements. Being a Payroll Director designs short-term and long-term strategies to achieve continuous improvement and efficiencies in payroll processing and delivery operations. Keeps stakeholders informed about the status of payroll laws and regulations and develops implementation plans for required changes to operations. Additionally, Payroll Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Payroll Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Payroll Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.   • The Iron County Medical Care Facility (ICMCF) seeks a talented Finance/Payroll Director to join their Administrative Team in Crystal Falls, Michigan.

    As our Finance/Payroll Director, you’ll be at the forefront of planning, developing, organizing, and implementing our facility’s accounting functions. From managing the general ledger and payroll systems and preparing monthly financial statements to overseeing Medicaid and Medicare reimbursement models, your expertise will be key in maintaining our strong financial health.

    WHAT YOU WILL DO.

    • Manage the entire payroll information system, including processing payroll and related tax preparations.
    • Oversee accounts receivable and payable systems with finesse.
    • Assist with yearly and monthly budget reports, as well as other local, state, and federal reports.
    • Prepare Board Meeting reports and yearly data for Medicaid and Medicare cost reports.
    • Balance bank accounts and assist with funding and grants.
    • Work closely with auditors during year-end audits and special audits.
    • Coordinate with the Iron County Treasurer’s office on all cash transaction issues.

    WHAT WE OFFER.

    • $65,000 – $80,000 annual starting salary based on your knowledge and experience.

    WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR.

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or Finance preferred.
    • Minimum of 3 year’s accounting or financial management experience preferred; experience with skilled nursing home financial management a bonus.
    • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
    • Initiative, problem-solving skills, and the ability to prepare relevant data and reports.
    • Proficiency with various software systems: financial accounting, payroll software, Microsoft Word, Outlook, and extensive experience with Excel.
    • Ability to lead and manage a diverse staff, workload and prioritize tasks.
