Payroll Director jobs in Saint Petersburg, FL
Payroll Director directs all aspects of payroll processing operations. Establishes and oversees payroll processes and procedures for routine processing, tax reporting and internal financial requirements. Being a Payroll Director designs short-term and long-term strategies to achieve continuous improvement and efficiencies in payroll processing and delivery operations. Keeps stakeholders informed about the status of payroll laws and regulations and develops implementation plans for required changes to operations. Additionally, Payroll Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Payroll Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Payroll Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience in a similar position within education or a software technology-related industry
- Fund accounting knowledge
- Knowledge of employee processing, compensation, and benefits.
- Demonstrate solid character, integrity, and share our small business ethics
- Makes attention to fine details a personal priority
- Background in educational setting strongly preferred; knowledge of school district processes and operations
Job Responsibilities:
- Communicate directly with QA / Automation Engineering Manager on open issues
- Perform manual testing on bug fixes and/or new features
- Write test cases for the automation team to automate
- Perform regression testing when new versions are released
- Interact with ERP engineers when testing tickets
- Learn Focus' product, processes and assist in supporting Focus product as needed
