Job Details
Responsibilities:
As a Consulting Payroll Clerk, your duties will include but are not limited to:
- Processing and managing client payroll in a timely and accurate manner.
- Ensuring compliance with all applicable state and federal wage and hour laws.
- Accurately entering data into payroll systems, verifying accuracy of computations, and resolving discrepancies.
- Preparing and maintaining accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
- Consulting with clients to analyze and understand their payroll needs and to recommend appropriate payroll processes and procedures.
- Assisting in the development and implementation of payroll policies and procedures.
- Collaborating with other departments to ensure payroll charges are accurate and properly distributed.
- Providing excellent customer service by answering employee inquiries about payroll and resolving any payroll errors.
- Staying current with changes in payroll and tax laws that could impact the payroll process.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in an entry-level payroll or data entry role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and experience with payroll software.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
- Strong numerical skills and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to effectively communicate with clients and team members at all levels.
- The ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- A strong understanding of payroll and wage and hour laws.
- A commitment to providing excellent customer service.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
