Payroll Manager is responsible for managing payroll processing operations. Establishes policies and processes that ensure accurate calculation of wages, tax withholdings, and company deductions. Being a Payroll Manager interfaces between finance and human resource departments to provide accurate and useful information. Develops and produces payroll-related statistical reports. Additionally, Payroll Manager ensures accurate and on-time governmental reporting and compliance. Oversees the activities and training of both professionals and support staff. Directs the resolution of complex issues or errors. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Payroll Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Payroll Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Key Job Responsibilities 1.`HR Admin 20% Performs Verifications of Employment for Team Members Responsible for accurately and confidentially maintaining Team Member data in HRIS systems and personnel files. Completes data audits driving continuous improvement and compliance- establishes and documents efficient processes Processes team member separations ensuring compliance to regulations, CBA, company policy and benefit plan documents. Coordinates and completes the administrative duties related to team member personnel files 2. Employee Relations 40% Think independently, investigate and resolve employee relations issues, partnering with the Sr Manager, HRBP, Operations, COE and legal teams, where necessary. Identify root causes and conduct relevant data analysis in order to propose both short-term and long-term interventions and solutions. Conducts one annual Employee Forum for Techs, Estimators and General Managers (one each), in partnership with Sr Manager, HRBP and Sr Operations Leadership. Conducts, records and reports on exit interviews. 3. Liaison with COE’s 20% Functions as a liaison between team members and COE’s, Finance, Payroll, etc.. Participates in meetings as assigned and required to ensure proper support for COE’s. Completes reporting for the department, operations, and finance as needed. Partner with COE’s to ensure all initiatives are rolled out and completed for US Operations. 4. Acquisitions 10% Provides Human Resources support as required for all Acquisitions in the assigned division. 5. Recruitment & OnBoarding 10% Assists the Talent Acquisition Manager in driving the recruiting process as required. Collaborates with COE to ensure the onboarding process is completed efficiently and in a timely manner. Education and/or Experience Required Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, related field, or professional experience equivalent. A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in HR roles within fast-paced and matrix organizations Advanced skills using Microsoft Office Suite (Work, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) Advanced skills using Google Workspace (Formally G-Suite) Required Skills/Abilities Proven written & verbal communication as well as demonstrated interpersonal ability to navigate relationships across every function of the organization. Proven ability to understand business goals and apply policies and procedures to affect continual improvements in business objectives, productivity and development at a Store level..
