Payroll Manager is responsible for managing payroll processing operations. Establishes policies and processes that ensure accurate calculation of wages, tax withholdings, and company deductions. Being a Payroll Manager interfaces between finance and human resource departments to provide accurate and useful information. Develops and produces payroll-related statistical reports. Additionally, Payroll Manager ensures accurate and on-time governmental reporting and compliance. Oversees the activities and training of both professionals and support staff. Directs the resolution of complex issues or errors. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Payroll Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Payroll Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Job Summary
Payroll Manager will oversee and supervise the payroll team for the successful bi-weekly processing of multiple multi-state companies, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations. Manages relationship and processes with 3rd party vendors. Ensures the transmission of all electronic funds transfers relating to the distribution of net wages and payroll deductions. Responsible for periodic audit, testing, and implementation of all payroll system changes, enhancements and process improvements.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, developing, training, and retaining employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
