Best Express Transportation is seeking a motivated individual to be part of the BEST team! We are a fast-growing company. We are looking for an Accounts Payable/Payroll Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of financial concepts, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibilities:

• Responsible for processing invoices, reconciling accounts, and maintaining accurate financial records.
• Process vendor invoices and ensure accuracy of information.
• Review and reconcile accounts payable transactions.
• Respond to vendor inquiries in a timely manner.
• Assist with month-end closing activities.
• Perform account analysis and reconciliation as needed.
• Assist with audits and provide supporting documentation.
• Notify Accounting Controller, when necessary, of findings.
• Maintain control of check numbers within the accounting systems.
• Oversee approval of checks per the direction of the Accounting Controller.
• Ensure checks will be mailed within 24 hours after signature and each check must be sent with the invoice copy or payment stub.
• Completes, assigned payroll accounting functions.
• Coordinates with Management to make necessary entries to adjust.
• Responsible for analyzing timesheets, processing payroll incentives, submitting payroll data to payroll processing vendor, verifying output.
• Responsible for compiling payroll related reporting and analytics.
• Responsible for completing reporting required to satisfy, local state and government compliance agencies.

• Ability to analyze financial data and identify discrepancies.
• Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
• Knowledge of payroll tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements.
• Good with numbers and figures and an analytical acumen.
• Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Associate degree in accounting, finance, or relevant field (preferred).
• Minimum of 2 years of in accounts payable/payroll or related experience.
• Experience with journal entries and account reconciliation.
• Proficient in QuickBooks, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Prior experience with trucking company (preferred).
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
