Payroll Specialist Job Description
Payroll Specialist provides comprehensive, ongoing, and proactive support for all inquiries pertaining to the payroll system functionality, payroll compliance and best practices.
Payroll Specialist must have extensive knowledge of third-party payroll systems, specifically Paycor (Payroll Software System).
Uploading hours to the payroll grid for processing (Match grid with Payroll Detail Report).
Payroll Specialist investigates and corrects system generated reports identifying out of balance payroll and payroll tax records.
Assist with payment distribution, Investigate and correct system generated reports, identifying out of balance payroll and payroll tax records.
Maintain high knowledge on all the company's payroll policies and governmental regulations impacting payroll preparation.
Process weekly and Bi-Weekly payroll for all McGinnis, Inc., NMRKY, Mid-America Fuels, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all Federal, State laws.
Help with special projects as directed by CFO, or Corporate HR Director.
Respond to and resolve all payroll inquiries and make resultant changes.
Utilize all internal tools & defined processes to ensure optimal productivity, service excellence and make recommendations for best practices to employees.
Conduct an annual review of employee payroll set up and processes to identify deficiencies within existing procedures and/or configuration.
Desired skills for payroll specialist include:
· Able to work effectively with minimal supervision
· Excellent Verbal and Written Communication skills
· Experience with Paycor Software System a must
· Experience with Microsoft Office Application
· Payroll Processing
· Will versed in Federal and State wage laws
· Capability of exercising extreme discretion with confidential information
· Strong Understanding common accounting practices
