Covenant Woods is a Continued Care Retirement Community, located off Mechanicsville Turnpike, is a multi-faceted organization which allows for unparalleled growth for our employees. We are looking for an enthusiastic Part-Time Payroll Specialist to join our dynamic, accounting team.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Provides support to the Finance Director on all financial and accounting issues including payroll, resident accounts and banking for the corporation of Covenant Woods. Embraces and models Covenant Woods business standards, Code of Conduct, and focus on the Promise in all aspects of delivery of service.
SOME DUTIES INCLUDE:
- Maintain the electronic time keeping system to ensure proper performance and works with department supervisors to correct any time issues within the system.
- Process all payroll and payroll related activities on a bi-weekly basis.
- Generate reports from ADP for bi-weekly reconciliation of accounts and/or for processing payments.
- Processes 403(b) EE, ER, Disc. Match, Loans and 457-upload on the provider website.
- Scan Bi-weekly payroll paperwork into System.
- Upload ADP payroll report into Great Plains.
- Assist the Staff Accountant with the quarterly reconciliation of the payroll liability accounts.
- Review quarterly 941s and annual W-2s
- Assist in the annual Workers Comp Audit, fiscal year audit and 403b audit.
- Gather the required information, process, and maintain the CMS Payroll Based Journal reports each month.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- A minimum of an associate’s degree in accounting/bookkeeping is preferred.
- Several years of payroll experience is required.
- Experience with processing shift work.
- Vast knowledge working with ADP is required.
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Office products required.
- Managing company payroll with multiple departments, 325 employees.
