Pediatric Psychiatrist evaluates, diagnoses, and treats mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders affecting children, adolescents, and their families. Diagnoses disorders, including nature and extent, determines the appropriate course of treatment, and discusses these treatment plans with the child or adolescent and the responsible adults. Being a Pediatric Psychiatrist prescribes medication when necessary. May need to act as an advocate for the best interests of the patient. We're looking for licensed physicians who are passionate about providing high-quality care to vulnerable patients in a collaborative community setting! As a Psychiatrist, you will provide psychiatric, diagnostic, and therapeutic services to members of the Berkeley community who are dealing with severe mental illness. Our small clinic serves 260 patients, with varying levels of need, who are on Medi-Cal or uninsured.
Working in our Mental Health Division, you will collaborate with high-caliber colleagues in a team-based model with case managers for all patients, excellent nursing staff, and great administrative support. You will have the opportunity to work with patients in an Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) model as well as more traditional models, across programs such as our Homeless Full Services Partnership, Comprehensive Community Treatment, and Focus on Independence.
