Position Summary:
The primary responsibility for this position is to support all Sprague departments and team members by coordinating activities related to People Operations / Human Resources and related processes. The HR Coordinator fosters strong professional relationships with peers, managers, and vendors. The HR Coordinator contributes to team and company performance by effectively auditing employee files, supporting payroll processing, scheduling training activities, and maintaining high standards for quality and service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Employee Lifecycle
- Assist with recruiting processes from posting jobs to managing offers to ordering new hire kits
- Support people operations processes from onboarding to job performance to termination
- Maintain employee files, change requests, information updates, life events, and turnover
- Payroll Administration
- Review and update employee pay set-up
- Audit biweekly timecard submissions
- Work with managers and team members to correct time and pay errors
- Benefits Programs
- Process new hire elections and qualifying event adjustments
- Conduct quarterly audits of benefits enrollments
- Audit time off programs and balances
- Process vacation cash out and leave requests
- Training Logistics
- Manage class schedules and rosters
- Book travel, lodging, and meeting spaces
- Maintain training supplies, course materials, and certificates
- Support training administration in learning management system
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficiency in human resource topics, including wage & hour compliance, disciplinary process, diversity and inclusion, anti-discrimination, employee engagement and retention
- Proficiency in software and systems including but not limited to: MS O365 (Word, Excel, Outlook), HRIS, LMS
- Detail oriented with excellent time management and organizational skills
- Strong sense of personal accountability, discretion, and professionalism
- Ability to manage time, priorities, and work with minimal direction
- Ability to apply analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, predict challenges, and proactively head-off obstacles
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, with peers, other departments, and leaders at all levels

Education and/or Experience:
- ·2 years experience in human resources
- ·Associate’s degree or equivalent HR certifications
Environment and Physical Demands:
- Constantly sitting at a desk to operate a computer, telephone, and other office equipment
- Constantly communicating with internal and external customers by telephone, in-person, and over email
- Frequently walking, reaching, and/or stooping to access equipment and supplies
- Occasionally lifting up to 50lbs
