Being a Percussion Instrument Repairers and Tuners may be required to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. Requires 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Additionally, Percussion Instrument Repairers and Tuners is familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision; typically reports to a supervisor or manager. GENERAL DESCRIPTION: As an assistant to the high school Band Director, the Percussion Instructor is responsible for the planning and instruction of the school’s percussion students. Responsibilities will encompass both battery and pit percussion. The instructor prepares and rehearses the ensemble for independent performances and competitions in accordance with school curriculum.
