The Personnel group in the School of Social Ecology provides administrative support and customer service to a diverse group of faculty, staff, and student employees. The staff are responsible for supporting an employed population of 88 senate faculty, 75 staff (career and limited), 30 non-senate academics, and 190 student employees (graduate and undergraduate). https://socialecology.uci.edu/
Under the general supervision of the Director of Personnel, the Personnel Analyst serves as a resource to the School on non-senate academic personnel matters in the School of Social Ecology. The position will assist in the school’s compliance in all personnel matters and actions involving non-senate academics, lecturers, benefits administration and leave administration. Applies professional UC Academic HR concepts, organization and system wide policies, and procedures to provide guidance to supervisors and managers to resolve a variety of academic human resources issues of moderate scope and complexity.

Required:
1-3 years of relevant experience, preferably in a university setting.
Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
Basic knowledge of and ability to apply / interpret organization and college policies and procedures which govern academic HR. Knowledge of organization, college and departmental formal and informal policies and procedures and understanding of variances to stated policies. Knowledge of human resources management systems and other related business software programs and systems. Knowledge of unit academic culture and educational goals of discipline(s) served. Analytical skills to conduct analysis and develop recommendations to Chairs / unit management. Demonstrated organization, problem solving, and communication skills. Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to prioritize assignments when faced with heavy workload, deadlines, and competing requests for service. Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team, to exercise sound judgment and discretion in working with sensitive and highly confidential matters. Ability to maintain the confidentially of student, faculty, and staff personnel and financial information.
Preferred:
Knowledge of UC Academic Personnel policies and procedures. Knowledge of UC staff human resources policy and procedures. Experience with UCPath system/Peoplesoft.
