Position Summary
• Oversees and directs accounting, accounts payable, payroll, audit, and insurance activities for the organization.
• Provides oversight and management of the revenue cycle process.
• Monitors all financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
• Protects assets by establishing, monitoring and enforcing internal controls.
• Implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.
• Tracks and reports budget variances monthly and makes recommendations, accordingly.
• Prepares monthly financial statements for review by the CFO, for submission to the Board of Directors.
• Supports the CFO and senior management to build, develop and execute financial and accounting strategies/processes and systems to effectively meet and support the organization’s objectives.
• Coordinates the annual audit and preparation of various tax filings with outside auditors and accounting firms.
• Attends committee and management meetings, as appropriate.
Education/Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field.
• CPA and/or MBA strongly preferred.
• 5-10 years of progressively responsible accounting experience in the health care industry.
• 2 years of experience in accounting/revenue cycle functions for an FQHC or equivalent.
