Responsibilities

• Responsible for educating healthcare professionals and patients on medication use, as well as compounding and dispensing prescribed medications for patient care.
• Perform professional and technical activities associated with the distribution of medications, the maintenance of drug inventory, patient records and patient financial records.
• Supervise interns and technicians for assigned area.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• Doctor of Pharmacy from an accredited College of Pharmacy
• Current License to practice Pharmacy in the State of NM
• Knowledge of pharmacy operational systems which may include unit dose distribution, IV admixture, QA, DUR, Pharmacy computer systems, and automated drug dispensing equipment.

Preferred Job Requirements:

• One (1) year pharmacist experience
• ASHP accredited PGY1 residency (preferred) or equivalent experience (required). A minimum of 2 years as a clinical pharmacist in a hospital setting (equivalent to PGY1).
• PGY2 residency or equivalent experience (preferred). Three-five years experience as a clinical pharmacist in a hospital setting (equivalent to PGY2).
• New Mexico Pharmacist Preceptor License
• IV Certification or must obtain within 6 months from date of hire.
• Board Certification (BCPS) or must obtain with 3 years of date of position
• American Heart Association ACLS certification within 90 days of employment.
