Additionally, Pharmacist Manager requires a doctorate degree in pharmacy. Requires Registered Pharmacist (RPh) license. Typically reports to a director. The Pharmacist Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Pharmacist Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required. Pharmacist Position Summary
To actively coordinate, on a day-to day basis, the provision of high quality, comprehensive pharmaceutical care to the patients of PRMC, in compliance with federal and state legal, regulatory, accreditation, and professional standards. This includes: (1) involvement with multiple drug distribution functions (inclusive of computerized order entry and/or verification of physicians orders, IV admixture preparation, etc.): (2) defined clinical/cognitive activities to optimize therapeutic outcomes (primarily via decentralized processes in the patient care areas) under the aegis of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee: (3) educational activities with pharmacist colleagues and other health care professionals (e.g. physicians, nurses, etc.) to maintain and advance clinical competency vis-à-vis drug therapy; and, (4) supervisory functions while providing professional oversight of technicians drug preparation and distribution activities.
