Pharmacy Buyer is responsible for purchasing pharmaceuticals, receiving and proper storage, medication recalls and returns, financial management of all medication accounts and oversight of all controlled substances processes.
Has authority and accountability to purchase pharmaceuticals, blood derivative products, and related supplies in accordance with Fairview Policies and procedures. Responsible for receiving process in all appropriate pharmacy locations.
Responsible for invoices process system and maintenance of all related records, interdepartmental charges and other miscellaneous records.
Responsible for medication recalls, medication returns, medication waste processes, and required legal documentation. Coordinates product returns and issues emergency purchase orders.
Purchase, store and distribute all controlled substances; responsible for maintenance and oversight of required controlled substances records.
Assures that medication and supply storage sites within pharmacy are maintained in a manner that assures product quality.
Constructs and reviews purchasing management reports; takes appropriate actions to resolve variances.
Provides input and advises on the development of all policies and procedures related to purchasing and controlled substances systems. Responsible for the implementation process for all policies and procedures.
Assures compliance with all legal, regulatory, The Joint Commission, and other standards as well as all related policies and procedures.
