Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Purchasing Agent to join our team. As a Purchasing Agent, you will be responsible for sourcing and procuring materials, supplies, and equipment necessary for our operations. SMG Property owns and manages 12 buildings/210 apartments throughout Aurora, CO. Your role will involve managing the supply chain, overseeing and tracking purchase orders, negotiating prices, and ensuring timely delivery of goods. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of logistics and supply chain management.
Responsibilities:
- Source and procure materials, supplies, and equipment needed for production
- Evaluate supplier options based on price, quality, and delivery speed
- Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to ensure favorable pricing and conditions
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to determine purchasing needs and specifications
- Monitor inventory levels and place orders to maintain adequate stock levels
- Coordinate with suppliers to track order status and resolve any issues or delays
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier information
- Stay updated on industry trends and market conditions to identify potential cost-saving opportunities
- Implement and utilize MRP (Material Requirements Planning) system for efficient procurement processes
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred)
- Proven experience as a Purchasing Agent or in a similar procurement role
- Strong knowledge of supply chain management principles and practices
- Proficient in using procurement software systems (e.g., Oracle EBS)
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to secure favorable pricing and terms
- Solid understanding of logistics and property management processes
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
