Pharmacy Technician assists a registered pharmacist with support activities and processes required to dispense medical prescriptions. Collects, inputs, and verifies prescription, refill, and patient information. Being a Pharmacy Technician receives and stocks incoming supplies. May prepare labels and routine prepacked orders. Additionally, Pharmacy Technician may be expected to perform some clerical duties relating to the department. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. May require Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT). The Pharmacy Technician possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Rochester Cub is looking to add a FT and PT pharmacy technician to our team! This position requires candidates to be at least 18 years old currently, have a high school diploma or equivalent, and pass background and drug screenings.
This position does not require candidates to be nationally certified pharmacy technicians, however you will need to complete the certification within one year of hire. The training program will be paid for by Cub.

Job Overview:
The Pharmacy Technician assists the Pharmacy Manager and/or Staff Pharmacists with processing prescriptions, record keeping and stock support to Pharmacy. The position is also responsible for maintaining shelf stock to ensure maximum product availability and sales. Primary learning challenge is computer operation, accuracy and product knowledge. To be effective in this position you must have the ability to communicate with customers and other employees within the pharmacy. Furthermore, the Pharmacy Technician must maintain and follow all board of Pharmacy regulations as well as store and Pharmacy department policies and procedures. Knowledge of pharmacy operations is preferred for this position. Must be organized, be able to work on a number of tasks at one time, and work with minimum supervision. The incumbent must possess strong customer service, interpersonal and communication skills.
