Pharmacy Technician assists a registered pharmacist with support activities and processes required to dispense medical prescriptions. Collects, inputs, and verifies prescription, refill, and patient information. Being a Pharmacy Technician receives and stocks incoming supplies. May prepare labels and routine prepacked orders. Additionally, Pharmacy Technician may be expected to perform some clerical duties relating to the department. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. May require Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT). The Pharmacy Technician possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Position Summary
Under the supervision of a Licensed Pharmacist the Pharmacy Technician II can perform all the duties of a Technician I, (prepares, counts, labels, packages, and dispenses pharmaceuticals for Pharmacists? approval), and assumes responsibilities involving receiving, entering, processing, and maintaining orders in the computer system.
Pharmacy Technician II will perform data entry of new and refill prescription orders prescription orders. The Pharmacy Technician II will achieve the highest degree of accuracy possible while maintaining acceptable production quotas as determined by experience and company policy. This is accomplished while striving for data entry department to achieve the company?s goals of superior customer service and reimbursement for goods and services.
In addition, pharmacy technician II may flex between dispensing and data entry activities as workload and priorities change throughout the course of their shift.
