Physical Therapist evaluates and treats patients recovering from injury, disease, surgery, or other ailments. Establishes individualized treatment plans and treats patients using a variety of methods, including exercises, stretching maneuvers, hands-on therapy, and equipment. Being a Physical Therapist maintains patient records by keeping track of goals and progress while adapting treatment plans accordingly. Advises patients and their families on in-home treatment options and what to expect from the recovery process. Additionally, Physical Therapist may work with and/or consult with physicians, case managers, and other medical professionals. Requires a doctorate degree in physical therapy. Requires Certified Physical Therapist (CPT). Requires Licensed Physical Therapist (LPT). Typically reports to a manager. The Physical Therapist occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.     Select Physical Therapy is seeking an outpatient Physical Therapist (Ortho/Oncology) in Emeryville, CA

     

    Select Physical Therapy has an exciting opportunity for a clinician with a passion for oncology to lead the charge in developing our cancer rehabilitation program in the Northern California area! We’re looking for an experienced and outgoing therapist, eager to work alongside our business development managers to bring ReVital Cancer Rehabilitation to Northern California.

     

    ReVital is an innovative oncology rehabilitation program offered exclusively by Select Medical. Our mission is to deliver outcomes that matter to our patients throughout the cancer journey by understanding their needs and goals and providing specialized, comprehensive services at the hands of compassionate, dedicated clinicians. Our vision is to establish comprehensive cancer rehabilitation as a standard of care for people affected by cancer.

     

    Our network of 800 specially trained therapists work closely with oncologists and people affected by cancer to create personalized rehabilitation plans. Utilizing physical, occupational, and speech therapies, ReVital specialists address pain, fatigue, neuropathy and many other cancer-related side effects with encouragement and compassion. An overwhelming majority of people affected by cancer do not receive treatment for functional impairments. ReVital addresses this gap in care and helps people regain strength, function, independence, and quality of life.

     

    This role will be a mix of clinical care and program development, with clinical caseload primarily focused on orthopedics with some oncology initially. At least one year of clinical experience and a passion for oncology are required. Ideal candidates will have cancer rehab experience and be passionate about it, and have have leadership, mentoring, and/or program development experience.

     

    Compensation: Salary range $90,000 - $115,000/year commensurate with experience and internal equity.

    Responsibilities

    • Understand appropriate state practice acts and adhere to the laws which govern how physical therapists may practice and whom physical therapists may supervise.
    • Complete and maintain all corporate & clinical services required training and maintain compliance with state/local/federal regulations.
    • Evaluate, treat, and direct treatment for patients for whom physical therapy is medically necessary and document this need clearly.
    • Maintain open and respectful communication with co-workers, physicians, patients, family members, and third-party payors at all times.
    • Attend and/or participate in facility meetings as directed by the center manager.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Successful completion of those educational requirements as mandated for state licensure or eligibility for a license in Physical Therapy
    • Current State Physical Therapy licensure or eligibility for licensure in the State of practice
    • Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification required
    • Ability to work 40 hours per week with occasional late or early shifts to accommodate patients
    • At least 1 year licensed clinical experience

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Leadership/mentoring experience
    • Program development experience
    • Cancer rehabilitation experience
