Physical Therapist - Nursing Home evaluates and treats patients suffering from a physical disability due to injury, disease, or surgery in a nursing home environment. Establishes treatment plans and treats patients using a variety of methods, including exercises, stretching maneuvers, hands-on therapy, and equipment to ease patients' pain and help them increase their mobility. Being a Physical Therapist - Nursing Home works cooperatively with physicians, case managers, and adjustors. Monitors, documents, and reports patients' progress. Additionally, Physical Therapist - Nursing Home may supervise physical therapy assistants, aides, and athletic trainers. Requires an advanced degree of Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT). Typically reports to a manager. Requires a state license to practice physical therapy. Physical Therapist - Nursing Home's years of experience requirement may be unspecified.     Responsibilities:
    • Perform physical therapy evaluation and treatment of patients based upon physician orders, including recommendation and procurement of adaptive equipment
    • Establish measurable goals and develop treatment plans to move patients toward their maximum level of independence and/or function
    • Maintain communication among the treatment team, physician, patient, and family members as applicable
    • Maintain thorough and timely documentation of services provided to ensure proper billing
    • Supervise Physical Therapist Assistants and Physical Therapy Aides in direct patient care and patient-related activities in accordance with state practice act
    Qualifications:
    • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy from a college or university with an accredited Physical Therapy program
    • Must have a current, unrestricted license as a Physical Therapist in state of operation
    • Must have current BLS or CPR in accordance with state regulations
    • Minimum one (1) year of PT experience preferred
