Physician Assistant - Emergency & Trauma assesses, plans, and provides patient care to patients in an emergency and trauma unit under the supervision of a physician. Examines patient, performs comprehensive physical examinations, and compiles patient medical data, including health history and results of physical examination. Being a Physician Assistant - Emergency & Trauma orders and interprets appropriate laboratory and radiographic tests. Participates in daily patient rounds, writes progress notes, conducts patient education, writes prescriptions, and prepares discharge summaries. Additionally, Physician Assistant - Emergency & Trauma requires a master's degree in Health Sciences for Physician Assistants or related. Requires completion of the PANCE exam administered by National Commission of the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Requires Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C). Requires State license to practice. Typically reports to a physician. Physician Assistant - Emergency & Trauma's years of experience requirement may be unspecified.     Mission Statement: The mission of Sexual Trauma Awareness & Response® (STAR®) is to support survivors of sexual trauma, improve systems response, and create social change to end sexual violence.

    The Counselor is responsible for providing individual and group counseling to sexual trauma survivors and their loved ones. Other duties may include the supervision and training of staff/volunteers/interns that support the program.

    The primary responsibilities of this role are to:

    • Provide individual counseling to survivors
    • Facilitate group therapy sessions
    • Participate in weekly team meetings
    • Participate in supervision for licensure (while working towards licensure)
    • Complete treatment plans for clients (when needed)
    • Provide daily reminder calls/emails (when needed)
    • Complete psychosocial assessments for new clients
    • Documentation of all client interactions
    • Complete case management of clients (following up with no-show's, calling new intakes, scheduling matters, looking up referral agencies)
    • Complete at least 20 hours of continuing education either in person or online to keep up with best practices.

    As Needed

    • Follow up for requests for counseling information from clients, agencies and other practitioners
    • Respond to third party requests
    • Answer crisis hotline calls
    • Develop activities and events to engage survivors
    • Collaborate with other agencies to increase services for survivors
    • Submit mandated reports to DCFS and/or law enforcement
    • Community outreach
    • Facilitate community trainings
    • Develop psychoeducational materials on various topics related to sexual trauma for use with clients, community partners, and the general public

    Work Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm; some evenings and weekends expected
