Physician Assistant - Emergency & Trauma assesses, plans, and provides patient care to patients in an emergency and trauma unit under the supervision of a physician. Examines patient, performs comprehensive physical examinations, and compiles patient medical data, including health history and results of physical examination. Being a Physician Assistant - Emergency & Trauma orders and interprets appropriate laboratory and radiographic tests. Participates in daily patient rounds, writes progress notes, conducts patient education, writes prescriptions, and prepares discharge summaries. Additionally, Physician Assistant - Emergency & Trauma requires a master's degree in Health Sciences for Physician Assistants or related. Requires completion of the PANCE exam administered by National Commission of the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Requires Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C). Requires State license to practice. Typically reports to a physician. Physician Assistant - Emergency & Trauma's years of experience requirement may be unspecified.     Attention all Physician Assistants, we are calling you to partner with us as independent contractors providing services to our Military Service members.

     

    We will primarily work weekends, with some occasional weekdays in the State of California on an "as needed basis".

     

    Under the Reserve Health Readiness Program (RHRP) we provide health readiness services to meet the medical and dental requirements to maintain a deployable military force for the following:

    • U.S. Army Reserve (USAR)
    • Army National Guard (ARNG)
    • U.S. Navy Reserve (USNR)
    • U.S. Marine Forces Reserve (MARFORRES)
    • U.S. Coast Guard Reserve (USCGR)
    • Air National Guard (ANG)
    • U.S. Air Force Reserve (USAFR)

    Responsibilities

    • Support Physical Health Assessments of military personnel.  
    • Review health history, service member medical records, and medical questionnaires. 
    • Interview military personnel to determine current and prior medical concerns.
    • Identify any concerns that need to be addressed immediately, inclusive of Behavioral Health. 
    • Document interview results for readiness classification in the service member’s medical record using a proprietary system.

    Schedule

    • Primarily on Saturday and Sunday

    Qualifications

    • Supervising Physician may required depending on the state requirement
    • Active PA license in the state
    • CPR/BLS Certification
    • Experience with Primary Care, Urgent Care or Occupational Health - preferred
    • Experience with mobile medical services - preferred
    • Knowledge of Military systems, protocols, and terminology - preferred
    • Adaptable to fast paced environments, with large volumes of service members seen daily
    • Able to work extended hours
    • Able to work in various locations, including remote military installations
    • Able to travel, with weekend availability - preferred
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Basic computer knowledge and skills
    • Not Required - Diagnose, treat, or prescribe medications
