Physician Assistant - Emergency & Trauma jobs in Thousand Oaks, CA
Physician Assistant - Emergency & Trauma assesses, plans, and provides patient care to patients in an emergency and trauma unit under the supervision of a physician. Examines patient, performs comprehensive physical examinations, and compiles patient medical data, including health history and results of physical examination. Being a Physician Assistant - Emergency & Trauma orders and interprets appropriate laboratory and radiographic tests. Participates in daily patient rounds, writes progress notes, conducts patient education, writes prescriptions, and prepares discharge summaries. Additionally, Physician Assistant - Emergency & Trauma requires a master's degree in Health Sciences for Physician Assistants or related. Requires completion of the PANCE exam administered by National Commission of the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Requires Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C). Requires State license to practice. Typically reports to a physician. Physician Assistant - Emergency & Trauma's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Job Duties (include but not limited to):
Handle and process specialty cases in ER, triage
Acquire proper radiographs
Create and review estimates with clients for procedures
Patient care (phlebotomy, IVC placement, medication administration, nursing tasks)
Assist doctors with patient care
Drug Calculations
Induce, maintain/monitor, troubleshoot and recover patients from general anesthesia
Organize and maintain hospitalized cases
Job Requirements:
Current California RVT or similar experience
Applicant must be able to lift 50 lbs. and be able to stand for long periods
This person (s) should also be patient, enthusiastic, reliable, have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Applicant must be able to multitask efficiently
Experience as a veterinary technician >2 yr. strongly preferred
We are willing to train the right candidate
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $22.00 - $30.00 per hour
