Gastroenterology Associates, located in Hilo, is looking for a per-diem Medical Assistant to join our dedicated team.

About the Opportunity

The Medical Assistant will greet, room, and do general intake for patients visiting the office. Vitals, scheduling, and routine documentation are also part of the job duties.

Please note that the pay range for this position is $17.00 to $21.00 per hour.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities:

• Answering multiline phone system.
• Operating EHR to include creating appointments, cancelling appointments, fax inbox, etc.
• Prepping patient electronic charts to include verification of all ordered labs and imaging as well as any supporting pathology that may be required.
• Working monthly office visit recalls.
• Entering information into CoverMyMeds system for prescription authorizations as required.
• Triage patients to include taking vital signs, patient medical history, and supporting MIPS required documentation for each triaged patient.
• Setting up rooms for procedures such as feeding tube changes and hemorrhoidal bandings
• Cleaning/stocking exam rooms.
• Other duties as assigned.

About the Candidate

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required
• One (1) or more years of experience as a Medical Assistant strongly preferred
• Current BLS certification or the ability to obtain upon hire
• Medical Assistant Certification preferred
• Certified Medical Assistant certification preferred
• Endoscopy experience preferred
• Familiar with gMED, Open Access, Recall and Scheduling patients procedures
