Center for Advanced Gastroenterology, a Covenant Physician Partner, is hiring a Fulltime Medical Assistant in Maitland, Florida.

About the Opportunity

Are you a newly graduated Medical Assistant, or an MA who has always had an interest in working in this field? You will have the opportunity, in this role, to work with GI Techs and learn how to clean scopes, assist providers with Monomer procedures, as well as learn about endoscopy procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Follows principles of aseptic technique and prescribed operating/procedure room procedures
• Cleans and disinfects flexible endoscopes and accessories according to center’s policies and procedures and manufacturer’s guidelines and verifies that all essential equipment is functioning properly each day if assigned to instrument room.
• Maintains AERs and autoclaves per center policies and manufacturer’s guidelines and documents in the appropriate records. Monitors cleaning solution after each use for efficacy and records results appropriately when assigned to the instrument room.

About the Candidate

Minimum Requirements:

• English / Spanish bilingual skills required
• High school graduate or equivalent
• Competent utilizing basic office equipment to include printers, telephones, and electronic fax
• Ability to utilize a computer for daily tasks
• Current BLS certification or ability to obtain it prior to start date

Preferred Qualifications:

• Minimum of one (1) year prior experience as a Medical Assistant preferred
• Current CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) strong preferred
• Previous experience in a customer service or clinical setting
