Physician Assistant - Specialty assesses, plans, and provides patient care in a medical specialty, such as cardiology, neurology, orthopedics, etc. under the supervision of a physician. Examines patient, performs comprehensive physical examinations, and compiles patient medical data, including health history and results of physical examination. Being a Physician Assistant - Specialty orders and interprets appropriate laboratory and radiographic tests. Participates in daily patient rounds, writes progress notes, conducts patient education, writes prescriptions, and prepares discharge summaries. Additionally, Physician Assistant - Specialty requires completion of the PANCE exam administered by National Commission of the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Requires a master's degree in Health Sciences for Physician Assistants or related. Requires Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C). Requires State license to practice. Typically reports to a physician. THE POSITION
St. Lawrence Health is looking to hire full-time Surgical Service/Hospitalist Advance Practice Providers.
Assignments for this position will include a combination of Surgical First Assist Operating Room time and Medical Surgical Floor coverage.
Medical Surgical Floor coverage includes daily rounding and progress notes, managing orders, admissions, discharges, and consults.
Will work with primarily with General Surgery, OB/GYN and Orthopedic patients.
Shift flexibility available. Can accommodate either 4 10-hour shifts or 5 8-hour shifts per week. Will also have call responsibility.
Daytime coverage from 7a-5p or evening coverage from 3p-11p.
Provider will cover approximately 5 calls per month including one weekend. Weekend call is Friday at 5p through Monday at 7a.
Primary location is Canton-Potsdam Hospital.

Full-Time Base Pay Range: $135,000-$161,000*
