Your Role:

• You will lead the surgery/clinic teams to include teaching and coaching
• You will directly assist the operating physician with all aspects of nursing care to those patients undergoing surgical procedures, and manage all non-physician members of the team.
• You will have the opportunity to travel with the surgeon and team to other offices (Huntsville, Montgomery, Dothan, and Oxford)

Your Responsibilities:

• You will maintain awareness of flow and needs on the floor and make staffing adjustments as necessary
• You will be responsible for the training and performance of staff including clinical duties, documentation and paperwork/EMR, teamwork, efficiency, and customer service.
• You will oversee and assist with patient flow including but not limited to pre-surgery set up / patient prep, administering preoperative medications/local anesthesia, assisting the physician, suturing, bandage application, post-operative instructions, and discharge.
• You will instruct and ensure that the patient and/or family members understand the proper use of medications.
• You will be able to answer patient questions about treatment and conditions, ensuring the patient and/or family understand the treatment regimen and understands the importance of compliance with the prescribed treatments as well as post-surgery instructions and care.
