Pathology Consultants of New Mexico is seeking an Apprentice to learn the field of histology working as a histotechnician. Histotechs process and prepare anatomical tissue onto slides from which pathologists review the cells under a microscope and render medical diagnoses for patients.
Duties include preparing anatomical specimens for processing, embedding tissue, cutting tissue, performing special stain and immunostains, and many other fascinating duties.
This is a very unique, professional opportunity. Preference is given to candidates with a Bachelor’s Degree in biology or chemistry. Candidates must have a strong work ethic, and will be eager to learn. Dexterity with hands and ability to function at a high level in a very fast paced environment are mandatory to being successful in this position.
